Another amazing week! Seems like the Lord just keeps the blessings coming. Jerry's Barber Shop in downtown High Springs is selling our cookies like crazy. It's wonderful! They LOVE the Mazie Mae's Oatmeal Raisins....I do too! We'll be making dough every Tuesday and baking every Wednesday if you'd like to coordinate your orders with our regular baking days. Just let us know either by text or email or website.

Truly God Devotional 2

Did you know that Jesus is the only religious leader to have claimed to be God? All of the false religions around the globe had "regular Joe's" for prophets. They were simply men in what Christians call "sheep's clothing." These are false prophets sent by Satan, before and after Christ, to deceive the world. Satan wants to drag as much of God's creation as possible straight into Hell with no hope of escape. But as much as Satan and his false religions hate, Jesus loves. No other religious leader loved people like Jesus did. He was literally the perfect balance of grace and truth, salt and light, lion and lamb. Jesus doesn't need me to defend Him here though. He does a perfect job Himself. So, let's look at another example of who Jesus said that He was.

In John 4:7-14, we read the story of the Samaritan woman speaking with Jesus at Jacob's well:

A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink." The Samaritan woman said to him, "How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?" Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him and he would have given you living water." The woman said to him, "Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock." Jesus said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

Jesus was in Samaria because He was on His way to Galilee. The Bible says that Jesus "had" to go through Samaria. Samaria wasn't the typical way that Jews of the day traveled to Galilee. There was alot of hostility between Samaritans and Jews and in order to avoid the antagonism most Jews took a route along the Mediterranean coast or crossed the Jordan and went up through Perea. Samaria could be dangerous. Samaritans blended a false religion with worship to the Lord and harassed the Jews. This was similar to an inner city here in the U.S. that is overrun with gangs.

Being fully human, Jesus sat down to rest at the spring-fed well that Jacob had dug. A Samaritan woman came alone to draw water. Jesus asked her for a drink. The woman was probably shocked since she would have known that Jesus was Jewish. He was also a man talking to a woman alone which was completely inappropriate during that time. Their conversation was similar to the one Jesus had had with Nicodemus concerning the second birth and new heart. The woman took a literal view while Jesus was using the symbolism of "living water." Jesus promises that if we drink of spiritual water, or believe in Him, we will live forever and never thirst again. We will be like a spring-fed well overflowing with life!

What a week! You know cookie bakers get tired too! It is a good tired though. We raised more money for our outreach programs this week and this makes us happy. We are still a fledgling ministry, but God has been leading us full-steam ahead. Every single one of us made a mistake this week and cost us some cookies. And you know what? We got through it and nobody died! LOL! It's a miracle! Alot of cookies died though. (insert funeral dirge here). I'm glad that I mess up every once in a while. It helps to keep me on my toes and it also keeps me humble. I love this ministry so much. I pray that God continues to bless it and that the Lord leads us always. Jerry's Barber Shop in downtown High Springs is selling our cookies like crazy. I took an Ouch Pouch into the shop to show them and they loved the idea. Thank you Jenny Musen for this spirit-led outreach! It is spreading like wildfire. The farmer's market was a bit slow Thursday because of the heat, but we did have two repeat customers who came back for more Lemon Pizzazz and Sandy Cans. We had an order for Simon Peter's Pumpkin Eaters and some cut out Halloween cookies. The baking team worked so hard on Thursday. God has blessed this ministry with workers who truly love the Lord and also love others. In the end it all came together perfectly. We made our own buttercream frosting and it tasted amazing. The Simon Peter's Pumpkin Eaters are gorgeous don't you think?

Truly God Devotional

Who did Jesus say that He was? What sets Him apart from all the false-gods that have been running amuck in the world since time began? Who better to tell us than God Himself? So, for the next however-long, we will take a short-to-long journey through God's own description of Himself. In other words, there's no telling how long it will take, but we'll get there and we'll get there together. Keep in mind that cookie bakers are not necessarily Bible scholars, but we do love the Lord and want to continue to get to know Him better. So, let's walk this road together and begin in John 3. {pb} John 3:10-13 {pb} "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus,"and do you not understand these things? I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven-the son of man." {pb} Jesus is teaching us here about how He changes hearts and how even a scholar such as Nicodemus struggled with understanding who God is and how He thinks. This should actually make us all feel better about our own studies. It should be humbling in light of a learned man such as Nicodemus not getting the basic concept of a "new birth" or a "new heart." So much was in the Old Testament for Nicodemus to refer to and piece together. A case in point is the dry bones of Ezekial 37 being put back together and made healthy and new. Death to life. Old to new. Reformed and made better. Jesus was continually offering this renewing of the spirit because He was God and He could follow through on this promise. Nicodemus must have forgotten in Deuteronomy 30:6 where God said that He would give them a new heart or in Jeremiah 31:33 where God says that He will write the law on their hearts. How about the gift of a new heart and a new spirit mentioned in Ezekiel 36:26? And then Jesus hits Nicodemus with the best part of this passage...."NO ONE has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven-the son of man." Wow! Jesus is claiming His deity and setting Himself above false gods who claim to have ascended to heaven, but have not. Christ is the only God who descended to man, continually ascended through communion with the Father, and then ultimately ascended after the crucifixion. No other God has done this! Immanuel did!!

God is not just good....He is great! We received a gift of funds this week which we have decided to use for our Ouch Pouches. Word of mouth has gotten around and neighboring first responders are requesting to have some made for them. The ladies are getting together this week to do some power sewing on the pouches and to spend time in fellowship with eachother. Please pray for them as they labor for the Lord. All of this that we do is for the glory of God, to lead others to Christ, and to give aid and comfort to the suffering. This first responder received his first Ouch Pouch last Thursday. If you want to know more about our Ouch Pouches just click on our Outreach tab.
In each Ouch Pouch is a note written by one of our youth. How awesome to have a child comforting another and letting them know that they care and that Jesus loves them.
Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

It was a glorious day at High Springs Farmer's Market! The weather was amazing! We sold cookies, gave out a few New Testaments and menus, and enjoyed getting to know our market neighbors. A man on a lawn mower drove down and bought cookies and a car full of people stopped in front of our booth and bought some. We definitely are looking forward to spending the season downtown every Thursday. We put our signs out because if you build it they definitely will come. God is so good! One of our customers said that she has had so much difficulty eating because of digestive problems and she just knew that those cookies had to be full of the Holy Spirit because they just went down and set on her tummy so nicely. Well of course they did! Jesus is ALL in this people! I took some photos of our setup so you can see that we first of all are neat freaks! LOL! We keep a tidy shop! Our packaging is amazing and works wonders while we move them around. No breakage! We will be starting to use small boxes instead of cellophane bags for just two cookies. We are also investing in our trademark "checkered" red and white tablecloths. We also shared our visit to the Ark in Kentucky with our neighbors and they were excited to know all about it. Sweet people. We love them all and pray that the Holy Spirit helps us to show others that Jesus loves them and that they can be assured of salvation upon accepting Him as their Lord and Savior. Like I said....a GLORIOUS day!

Tomorrow is market day again! We are so excited. The High Springs Farmers Market is in a beautiful location in our cute little town of High Springs, Florida. Tomorrow we will have four different cookies including Lemon Pizzazz, Mazie Mae's Oatmeal Raisin, Chips Aholy and Nut N' Butters. If we don't have the cookie that you want then we can take orders to be delivered to your home or next Thursday at the market. Look for our sign around town and come to the market and see us. We will be posting photos here on our website late tomorrow or Friday. This ministry is blessed in some way every day! God recently blessed this ministry with Jackie Hague. Jackie is our cookie baker and we want to make sure that the ovens are in primo working order for her so today we scheduled a repair man to come do maintenance on our ovens at the church. We understand that it's important to take care of what God has given us. Pray for us please and this ministry. It is clear to us that this is exactly what the Lord wants us to do.

Have you have had a hurricane cookie? Well we opened up at the High Spring's Farmers Market in High Springs in spite of some off and on drizzle and breeze. Matthew was churning in the Atlantic Ocean and still the ladies had an amazing day. We ended up with a bit too many cookies, but we were quick to share the leftovers. They met many Florida Crackers who would never let a good storm get them down! We were invited to put our cookies in a local barber shop and we sold nearly everything we put in there. We quickly replenished the supply at the request of the shop owner. Woot! More for the kids!! Our new labels are in use and our very sturdy packaging. We also purchased a new/used mixer which will give us a little help with the heavy dough lifting. We debuted our two new cookies. They are called Simon Peter's Pumpkin Eaters and Chocolate Charlies. Check out the pics. We will keep everyone posted on our doings. Our pastor was driving by a car accident and saw a police officer giving a young child one of our Ouch Pouches. Wow! God is so good!

Well this is a big week for this wonderful little ministry. We start back at the High Springs Farmers Market this Thursday and if you live in our area you may just see a few signs around pointing the way! I'll make sure and take lots of pictures this week so I can share the blessings of this ministry with you. It is so wonderful to see the signs the Lord has sent our way just to let us know that we are doing exactly what He wants us to. We want to help others especially children. We have two new cookies making their debuts this week. We have our Holy Moses Chocolate Cookie that is the best chocolate cookie I have personally ever eaten. We also have a seasonal cookie we are debuting this week called Simon Peter's Pumpkin Eaters. This is our version of a pumpkin snickerdoodle. A soft and chewy delight for your holiday palate! I'll be sure and post photos of these two new cookie blessings! The air is still warm here in Florida, but us seasoned veterans can feel the crispness in the breeze beginning to start. This is by far my favorite time of year! I love the holidays and I'm so happy to have such wonderful Christian ladies to share it with. God has blessed us all and continues to bless this ministry!
