Truly God Devotional 6

Truly God Devotional 6

As we gaze up at these Giant Sequoia trees let's think about Christ leaving His throne and coming down from Heaven to live the earthly life of a servant slave. The power of a God and the frailty of a human being all rolled into one perfect man. Jesus had a mission! He was a missionary God. Self-grandeur such as becoming a king had no place in Christ's thinking. Jesus was grace and truth in perfect harmony. We should all strive to be more like Him. We are seeing that Jesus spoke a lot about who He was. Let's look at our next passage:

John 6:37-40

"All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from Heaven not to do my will but to do the will of Him who sent me. And this is the will of Him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

Those are some reassuring words right there! Amen! Praise God! Once He has us He never lets go! Once a true believer is are chosen for good. The trinity has been secretly drawing you to Christ all along. Once you have your "come to Jesus" moment, Jesus promises here to NEVER lose or destroy you. Isn't that wonderful? Makes me think of my favorite Psalm!

Psalms 139: 7-12

"Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Shoel, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night, even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you."

Awesome! Amazing! Miraculous! Don't try to hide in the dark because He will see you as clear as day. And we know from this weeks devotional that He'll never ever ever let go. He has a tight grip! AND....He is going to raise you up at the last days and we will all have eternal life. No death. No pain. No sickness. Just Jesus! I love that picture!

Jesus is protector, securer, holder and the raiser-upper of the faithful. Jesus is our last days champion! Oh what a joyful day that will be! Now that's something to be awestruck about! Praise God for sending His wonderful son Jesus Christ!
